Mental Health Awareness is a key part of the ‘Wellbeing Bundle’ for Astra staff
Here at Astra Security, we have had a long-term commitment to mental health, and we have an ongoing plan of support for all staff to access.
Last year, we introduced a ‘well-being bundle’, which is made up of a range of wellbeing e-learning courses. The ‘bundle’ offers ten online learning sessions covering a variety of subjects including financial wellbeing, nutrition; resilience, mental health awareness; stress awareness and mindfulness.
Time To Talk – a reminder of support available
To remind staff of the valuable and inclusive support available, we used Time to Talk Day to get together, have a cuppa, a cake, and a chat. This is an important thing to do, giving staff the opportunity to catch up and refresh themselves about the support available through their workplace.
Sarah Steer, Director of Finance, People and Compliance at Astra said:
“It’s more important than ever to maintain a consistent focus on mental health. Getting our staff together in a relaxing way over a cuppa and a cake is vital. The Management Team here are really committed to providing the right level of support, so the ‘wellbeing bundle’ is seen as a positive initiative. I want to make sure all our staff, especially some of our new starters are up-to-date and aware of what’s available for them to use.”
She went on to say:
“It’s in everyone’s best interests to have a healthy, all inclusive, open culture with improved morale and open and honest discussions about physical and mental health.”
Astra Security have a range of initiatives in place as part of their overall health and wellbeing programme for staff, which includes an ongoing Employee Assistance programme; flexible working; cyclescheme; a lunchtime running club as well as the ‘wellbeing bundle’.
