Astra Sponsored Cricket Team Show Their Talent
Gloucestershire Cricket’s boys’ pathway team have returned home following a two week tour of Sri Lanka in which they picked up two wins and a tie, in five matches.
The Shire’s talented youngsters put on a string of impressive performances in the South Asian country during their trip, which gave the up-and-coming pathway players invaluable opportunities to test themselves in hot and humid conditions overseas.
The boys’ team is part of the Talent Pathway Programme, which aims to identify and recruit talented cricketers within the region to fulfil their maximum potential with the hope of playing first class cricket for Gloucestershire.
Paul Beet, Managing Director at Astra Security said:
“We’re so proud to be involved with the Talent Pathway Programme, and it’s great to see the young players shine in their first overseas trip of the season. Our partnership with Gloucestershire Cricket is part of a long-standing relationship, and we are looking forward to working closely together in the months ahead. And this is a great start for the young players. Well done to all involved!”
Head of Talent Pathway at Gloucestershire Cricket, Tim Hancock, said:
“Getting the chance to play in Sri Lanka was an incredible opportunity for everyone involved. All the players applied themselves brilliantly and should be really proud of both their individual and team performances.
Thank you to our sponsors Walker Logistics, Bristol Fire and Astra Security; trips like this wouldn’t be possible without their continued support.”
