Giving their time for Unique Voice
Yesterday, staff from Astra Security Ltd gave up their time in support of Bristol based social enterprise, Unique Voice.
Unique Voice deliver creative projects which aim to improve children and young people’s social and emotional development. Operating across Bristol and the south west, they work with some of the most disadvantaged children and their families.
The volunteering took place at a warehouse near the centre of Bristol, and involved the creation and packing of a mound of activity boxes which will be sent out to underprivileged youngsters across Bristol and the south west. The packs included glue, crayons, glitter, and an awesome activity book, which contained a range of creative, educational and above all, fun things to do.
Sarah Steer, Director of Finance, People and Compliance at Astra said, “I’m really pleased to be helping out today. We’ve been involved with Unique Voice for a number of years, and they do such an amazing job. It was a complete ‘no brainer’ when they approached us for extra support. It’s been great to work as part of this wider team to get almost 1400 boxes filled and ready to go. Rolling our sleeves up to get the job done is critical for them to deliver their important services.”
Astra Security have supported Unique Voice for a number of years and are proud to help enable them to deliver the most valuable programme of support to those that need it most.
Becky Hale from Unique Voice said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to have some of the team helping us out today. We have been under immense time pressure to get 3000 packs ready and out the door.” She went on to say, “Without support such as this from companies like Astra, we wouldn’t be in a position to do the job that we do.”
